Troop 137

BSA Training

“An invaluable step in character training is to put responsibility on the individual.”

“The most important object in Boy Scout training is to educate, not instruct.”

"We do not want to make Scout training too soft."

- Lord Baden-Powell (founder of Scouting)

Troop 137 believes every Scout deserves a well-trained leader (a.k.a. leadership by example).  In order for events to be scheduled and go well, we need more adults to step up and get trained ASAP.  We encourage you to invest in your future with your scout, the troop, the BSA, and our community in this way.

Leadership Training

1)    Scout Training

2)    BSA Adult Leader Training - online training currently available at  Once you have a BSA ID, you can enter this into your online profile and all your training will be linked to it.  This is helpful for adult leaders to track what is needed and required for participation as BSA leaders during Scouting events.  If you are transferring from another unit, you will use the same BSA ID for your Boy Scout training.

Note:  It is recommended that after you complete each online training course that you save the certificate to a file and have printout too especially current youth protection training.  Then, send a copy of the completion certificate to

Classroom and outdoor training - see info at see web site

3)   Awards in Scouting - These are rewards for adult hard work and recognition for that work.
